When looking for reciprocal, or any other type of links, aim high. It is
a barter system, the idea being that you get in return at least what you
are providing and by doing this increasing your ranking. Although most
links to your site are good links, it may not be worth your while to
blindly provide links to any partner that may come courting.
Consider, if you have link pages one hop off your main page and each
page has no more than a couple dozen links. Is it fair, all other things
being equal, to you and your business to make a trade with a partner
that buries you 4 hops down at the bottom of a page with a couple
hundred other links? Use discretion and work for the reciprocate links
that will help your site rather than randomly hoping anything you add
may or may not generate a better ranking.
